I got 56 more views yesterday! Gives me a total of 1,149 views. I have been Hot and Trending 6 hours of the last 48. Most of my traffic is from the KS site, the rest comes from FB. Kindle Scout will often show books in the prominent line-up, that are not Hot and Trending but I have not seen them show mine. That worries me. So we shall see.

My Thunderclap continues to slowly rise. At 109 now. That means I have 127,593 guaranteed social media pages that will show my appeal for votes for Deep in the Heart of Me on Kindle Scout on June 21st at noon, and who knows how far this announcement will go from those pages. It’s very exciting. So thank you for voting and supporting this author. It is deeply appreciated.

I was Hot and Trending for five hours yesterday. For the last three days, my votes have been 60, 62, 56. The Hot and Trending list must be based on everyone’s number of votes at a given time. I can’t figure it out, but then it’s numerical, so that explains it!

I have 1086 total views. And 11 days left to roast over the fire. On June 21st at noon, I have a big ol’ Thunderclap going out across the globe asking for votes. If that doesn’t put me in the Hot category…well darlin’ I’m fresh out of ideas!

I have gotten most of my votes from the KS site, and right under that from Facebook requests (begging).

101 supporters in my Thunderclap this morning! That means it will launch on June 21st! It will be a viral announcement about my Kindle Scout campaign urging 107,580 people to vote for me. As it goes through their social media, it has the potential to be passed on and go even further.

AND when I hit 100 on Thunderclap and made my goal, I hit 1000 on Kindle Scout. 1000 total views there which made me get on the HOT AND TRENDING list once again, which helps me garner more votes. Getting votes is one of the things that the judges consider in okaying an author for publication.

Yesterday was quite a day for this author. 60 votes in Kindle Scout! A total of 968 page views! Thanks all!

I have 13 days to go. As most of you have heard (from me) I have started a Thunderclap campaign to get the word out about Deep in the Heart of Me being in KS and needing votes. Well, I’ve been…I’ve been…yes relentless…about it. Right now I can’t PM on Facebook or Goodreads as…they have revoked privileges because…I went a little overboard. But I want to thank you all for the quick response to my call to action. I went to sleep (this morning) having crossed the 50 mark to 51! I awoke to 55! And I need 45 more supporters. You are making me believe I will get there.

So I hope you will see this author, not as someone drowning in a sea of social media, but as a writer who yes is in shark infested waters, but has grabbed on to a piece of..fuselage and has stayed afloat thanks to people like you who read…this for sure…and RESPOND to my SOS.

It’s been so much fun. Today I will be doing my usual harrassing/inspiring shoutouts as hopefully my numbers in both endeavors (KS and Thunderclap) climb. Think of my shoutouts as being done in an auctioneer’s voice. That is the proper obnoxious level of my…encouragement.

Okay, Thunderclap. As I am usually the last to know about anything new or trendy, or not-so-new, I feel a blush that I’m even telling YOU all about something on the thingy–the net.

19 more page views! 908 total views! I can see 1000 in the distance. I can see it! Okay. 14 days left. And here’s what I’ve been doing: making FB mad, making Goodreads mad–not mad. I’ve been scolded. If you are going to self-publish or probably publish, in general, be very ready to be scolded. Humbled. It’s a very humbling process. I think that’s why writing attracts so much ego. So much snobbery. People, perceive it to be one thing, and it’s quite another, success not achieved in quite the same way. As a woman once told me, “Bain surgery is easier.” And she was a brain surgeon.

It’s people from all walks of life, all professions. Then writing becomes the melting pot. What you know in your day-job may not mean squat in writing. So how willing are you to go back to the starting line? How willing are you to be critiqued on social media by someone without enough vagina to sign her name?

I was once at a writer’s conference, and there were several tremendously accomplished people. Three of them spent half the conference drinking in their rooms. One left the conference second day. They couldn’t stand the critiques from the instructor.

I loved that guy. He made us grow.

So ego be gone. Of course, it’s only crouching in the corner waiting for the water of success so it can grow once more like a monkey plant.
