Fifteen Days Left in Kindlescout

poster-child-bRunning With Monkeys has a dab over two weeks to go in the Kindlescout program. Your vote matters and I thank the six hundred of you that have visited the site for this work of fiction. Like most fiction, it’s a fun house mirror on reality. Hell on Wheels was a very real armored division that spearheaded the European campaign during WW2. RWM is about a guy named Jules and a girl he meets soon after coming home. Isbe is right when she calls him Hero. Jules had survived two years of hellacious fighting. He’d once single-handedly shot down a German aircraft with an antitank gun bolted onto a halftrack. That’s how the war had been. It often came down to the heroism of one soldier, and Jules was that soldier.

But bravery in battle doesn’t always translate to success in peacetime. The tactics of war and survival aren’t always appreciated by the folks at home. Jules and the monkeys are challenged by the new front at home. Love of country becomes love of three operators from Illinois Bell. Running With Monkeys is a story of transition.

Jules is a hero. But he’s on his way to being a criminal. His girl Isbe is a guiding light, but with her father a cop, she could be his undoing. Running With Monkeys is up for a publishing contract with Kindlescout. Your nomination helps inch me toward that possibility. If you haven’t voted, here’s the site:

Day Nine in Kindlescout, Running With Monkeys

I have a book in Kindlescout. KS is Amazon’s publishing program. Once your book is selected it is put up for nomination by readers like you for thirty days. If at the end of those days, it is selected for publication, all voters get a free copy.

Running With Monkeys is mainly the story of Jules and how he falls in love with Isbe. Yeah, I always write love. It a…makes the world go round.

Day Eight in Kindlescout, Running With Monkeys

The page visits for my campaign currently running in Kindlescout, my book entitled Running With Monkeys, has a healthy 547 views. So thanks again. In the book, I pay homage to the men who’s division earned the nickname, “Hell on Wheels.” They were an armored division who helped lead the European campaign in WWII. The war often came down to the individual ingenuity and bravery of those men. The stories of heroism were an everyday occurrence. When the soldiers reached their objective, they had fought every step of the way across France, Belguim, Holland, to finally reach Germany, motherland of the enemy. And that enemy was dug in and prepared to fight to the last breath.

After such a vicious campaign, Jules, Bobby, and Audie reach home the victors. But once the pats on the back subside, they are left with the challenge of how to be victors at home. They aren’t sophisticated enough to think in terms of successful relationships, but that’s exactly what they gravitate towards. But how to sustain that when local jobs offer thirty-five to fifty cents an hour and that’s cold-water flat money at best?

Running With Monkeys. It needs your vote as that is an important factor in Amazon’s consideration of this book for a publishing contract. Here’s the site: https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/KBJLVQYHJ8AW

Thanks!

Day Eight in Kindlescout, Running With Monkeys

The turkey has been eaten, the leftovers put into turkey soup and the beautiful pumpkins collected from table and porch to compost in the garden over the winter.

I have twenty days left in KS before the fate of Running With Monkeys is decided. My story is mainly about three guys who come home from WWII and play catch up from two years of being overseas. They meet Isbe and her friends on the very night they are lined up to meet with Audie’s Uncle, an underboss for the Irish mob.

You can nominate me for publication. If I’m chosen, you get a free copy of my book. If you’ve already voted, thanks. If not, here is where you can do the good deed: https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/KBJLVQYHJ8AW

Day Six in Kindlescout, Running With Monkeys

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a great day with family and friends. I hope you don’t have to run with monkeys today but that you will have a peaceful time of sharing, eating, sitting in the nest of those who love you the most. May you count your blessings and renew.

Or, just keep watching football and know this is just a day. It’s not a big deal. You’ll get through it gracefully. Time will pass. There are always some kids running around who might love your attention.

My book, Running With Monkeys, is up on Kindlescout. Ten hours of hot and trending yesterday and nearly five hundred page views in five days. Like I said, whatever we talk about today around MY Thanksgiving table, it won’t be my writing career as most of them don’t know about it. So I rely on your response as a reader all the more. And I’ve found a family of readers, and I want to say, “thanks,” to all of you.

Day Six in Kindlescout, Running With Monkeys

Hot and trending! I had more page views yesterday than the day before! Thank you to all who voted.

So today, the day before Thanksgiving, I’ll be cooking. Here is what is different about his year–my husband and I are on the ketogenic diet. That means low, low carbs. No sugar, no flour. High fat, some protein, some good carbs. No um–mashed potatoes. Different version of dressing. Pretty much no on the desserts. And my family is coming and they’ve come to expect a certain traditional meal and there will be changes. Big changes.

And here’s what is great. RWM is still hot and trending. Almost four hundred people have looked at it. It’s my little secret. I write…incognito. Most of my family has no idea I have published books. I will dip out of the room several times tomorrow to see if I’m hot and trending. If I am–that flush in my cheek won’t be from the oven!

When I bow my head in gratitude at the Thanksgiving table here’s what I’ll be saying, “Yes, thank-you that Grandma is with us another year. Thanks for my dad. And…thanks for you know what (Running With Monkeys) being you know what (hot and trending), Amen!”

Now you all have a good one!
